Well, the first playtest session has come and gone. As GM, I have seen all sides of it (good and bad), but hopefully it went well (GG, your thoughts on it?). And during it, we all got to playtest another (and finished) game. I must say I felt a little overwhelmed, as they had more than just the standard game. They had expansions mapped out and practically ready for market, headbands, and all sorts of cool things (one player bought two headbands and wore them for the rest of the game).
So this brings me to my point...
We are nowhere near done.
Nowhere meaning not even close. far away...
I blame myself for not getting everything finished for now (although preparing for college enterance tests ate away at the precious time I could devote to this project). But even when I get the game book finished, we are still not done.
We need to come up with the following things before the release (which I hope will be in the next few months):
* Miniatures (yes, I'm still wanting them)
* Possibly more books to go along with the core one.
* And other things you can think of.
Now my lovely she-wolf of a girlfriend (/fiance pehaps... ) has voulenteered to try her hand at sculpting, and if she's any good at sculpting her fisrt 28mm miniature as she was at painting her first 25mm miniature, we may have Perry-quality figures coming our way. I'm not aiming for a ton of them, maybe just the ammount that was released for The Ruin of Arnor, but it'll be great.
As for extra books, I'm flate out of ideas. The War Lords book will have to be put off, as I don't want to overwork the precious little sculptors I may have with a ton of new figures needed for War Lords. It would be just impractial.
So here's what I was thinking. Take the MERP route, and create GW sized sourcebooks (64 pages at least though) and devote each to a specific region of the Wolf Lands. This would include profiles, background, setting, maps, and everything else needed for a good detailed game. If I decide on it, the Port City of Koldhron will be the first to be expanded upon.
And if you can think of any other such things we can do for this game (maybe maps, tokens, or other such helpful bits and pieces), please let me know. I will also want someone to help get a website together, so if you are interested, speak up.
That's all for now I guess. Bolg, I am sending you the current draft of the rules as I type, so you can playtest as soon as you like. I will send you updates and new rules as soon as I get them written. Keep me posed either via email or this site on your campaign progress.
Cheers!
